sugarloaf mountain : i live about a mile from the wilderness. here, in the background, is sugarloaf mountain. about two years ago in december, i climbed sugarloaf in the snow. around one in the morning i reached the other side- and found MANY bear tracks there. i had intended to camp... but bears, winter and yummy smelling hikers don't mix well. i hiked all the way home again, arriving at about nine the next morning... whew!

house-in-making : i and some friends are building a house, here. it's a lot of fun. i'd like to do more earthen-houses, but haven't had much chance.

if you know of a fun building project and there's a need for experienced carpetry, drop me a note. i love to travel.
